HOLLYWOOD, Florida—The Diplomat Beach Resort reopened as Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort. The transition marks the property’s entry into Signia by Hilton’s portfolio of luxury hotels worldwide.
The property originally opened in 1958. Following Trinity Investments’ 2023 acquisition, the 1,000-room resort underwent an $80 million transformation of public spaces and dining venues.
“The Diplomat has long been one of South Florida’s most iconic properties, and this transformation marks an important next chapter—not just for the hotel, but for Hilton’s continued growth in the region,” said Chris Nassetta, president and chief executive officer, Hilton. “As we expand Signia by Hilton in key gateway and resort destinations, this property is a great example of how we’re building on strong foundations to meet what today’s travelers are looking for – thoughtful design, standout dining, and unforgettable experiences.”
“Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort represents a defining moment for the Signia by Hilton brand as we continue our pivotal phase of growth with openings and signings around the globe,” said Meghan Fitzgerald, global brand leader, Signia by Hilton. “This opening introduces a new kind of luxury stay—combining sophisticated design, exceptional service, and world-class experiences that bring guests together in meaningful ways, from large-scale events to everyday moments, in one of the country’s most dynamic markets.”
“The debut of Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort marks a significant milestone in realizing our long-term vision for the property,” said Sean Hehir, managing partner, president, and chief executive officer, Trinity Investments. “Working alongside Hilton, we’ve focused on making thoughtful, strategic investments across the resort—proudly bringing together a world-class brand platform with our hands-on approach to enhance the property’s positioning, build on its enduring legacy, and strengthen its standing as one of South Florida’s leading beachfront destinations.”
Design
The resort’s redesigned lobby includes foliage and brings in natural light. The space layers lounge seating, communal tables, and nooks. Beyond the lobby, guests arrive at The Verandah, the resort’s newly reimagined oceanfront outdoor destination. The deck now includes a collection of experiences, from the Solara Infinity Pool and refreshed Grand Lagoon Pool to the adults-only Verandah Social Club, alongside cabanas and daybeds, and a new oceanfront jacuzzi.
Nearby, Horizon Lawn, a new outdoor event space, offers a setting for meetings and events, family activities, and live entertainment. Together with 1,000 linear feet of semi-private beach, The Verandah reinforces the resort’s identity as a modern coastal escape.
Dining
Introduced earlier this year, the six updated dining venues now deliver a connected, day-to-night experience, led by Miguel Santiago, director of culinary. Palmea Kitchen serves Mediterranean-influenced breakfast dishes in a greenery-filled setting. The menu offers dishes like shakshuka and orange blossom French toast. The Press is a café within the resort offering fresh juices, specialty coffee, and handcrafted pastries. Playa, the beachfront bar and grill, serves dishes like lobster quesadilla, freshly cut ceviche de coco, and a smoky parrillada, as well as signature frozen cocktails.
Solara serves globally inspired plates, offering a transition from daytime activities to evening cocktails. Diplomat Prime is the resort’s steakhouse.
Club Signia
Club Signia, located on the 33rd floor, comprises 6,660 square feet of indoor and terrace space with both Atlantic and intracoastal views. The Club offers a highly personalized, service-driven experience available to guests reserving premium room categories on floors 32 to 36 and Hilton Honors Diamond Reserve members.
Inspired by private membership clubs, Club Signia provides personalized pre-arrival outreach from a dedicated ambassador, priority access to hotel amenities, and a lounge environment that transitions throughout the day. Guests enjoy curated breakfast, midday meal presentations, evening cocktails and sweets, wellness-focused bites, and upgraded in-room amenities.
The Verandah Social Club
The Verandah Social Club is an adults-only outdoor pool and cabana space available for reservation via ResortPass to both hotel guests and South Florida visitors or locals alike. Offering ocean views and direct beach access, the open-air social club provides access to private locker rooms, beach seating, caviar service, and in-cabana spa treatments.
