    You do realize that tourism is basically the one thing that is keeping these magnificent creatures alive right?

    It gives the locals reasons to keep preserving the lands reserved for nature.
    If rich people don’t get to see wildlife like this the locals would kill of the animals and start farming or mining there instead!

    It’s important to keep the tourists at a safe distance so they can keep coming back and keep on saving the wildlife.

  2. What's so shocking here? The elephant's tusks were sawn off — meaning it was either tranquilized or tied up, unless you're suggesting they were cut while it was alive and conscious. Was it supposed to just 'relax and enjoy it'? And if trophy hunting is legal again there, how exactly is the elephant expected to react to humans? Seems like a perfectly natural response to me.
