The Masai Mara is a world-famous national nature reserve in Kenya, Africa, and a wildlife paradise of unmatched scale and beauty. It is best known for its safaris and exceptionally high concentration of lion, leopard, elephant, African buffalo, and cheetah, all co-existing in an incredibly beautiful area in the Rift Valley Province. Wildlife conservationists flock here every year to witness events such as the great wildebeest migration. This wilderness park was named after the Maasai people who are the area’s ancestral inhabitants.

Well, thanks for asking. We are Georg, Tara, Liv and Bodhi, a German-American family living in Colorado in the United States. We love traveling, visual storytelling and connecting with people and the planet. The word “Fernweh” in our channel name is German and translates to “the ache for distant places”; it summarizes our urge to travel and explore this bright blue dot we call home.
