Sapphire Reserve hotel credits: What’s covered

The Edit

With this Sapphire Reserve perk, you’ll receive up to $500 per year in credits for The Edit.

You get two up to $250 statement credits per calendar year for stays of at least two nights. Each $250 credit must be used on a separate booking, but either can be combined with the select hotel credit below.

$250 select hotel credit

For 2026, the Sapphire Reserve introduced a one-time up to $250 statement credit for eligible prepaid hotel stays of at least two nights booked through Chase Travel (available through Dec. 31). The select eligible hotel brands covered by this perk are:

  • IHG Hotels & Resorts
  • Montage Hotels & Resorts
  • Pendry Hotels & Resorts
  • Omni Hotels & Resorts
  • Virgin Hotels
  • Minor Hotels
  • Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts
OMNI LA MANSION DEL RIO

If IHG piques your interest, the Sapphire Reserve also includes automatic IHG One Rewards Platinum elite status (through Dec. 31, 2027). This offers:

  • Early check-in and late checkout (when available)
  • Complimentary room upgrades (when available)
  • A 60% points bonus on stays

Price match

It’s worth noting that prices may be higher in the Chase Travel portal than if you book directly.

A positive is that Chase has launched a price match feature for select cardholders. If your account is eligible and you book a stay through Chase Travel and then find a lower rate (greater than $5) elsewhere, you can submit a claim within 24 hours of booking to have the lower price matched.

Keep in mind hotel details have to be the same, meaning you can’t price match a refundanble rate with a nonrefundable rate.

How to stack the Sapphire Reserve’s hotel credits

Once you log into Chase Travel, you can start a search to begin hunting for hotels that are covered by both credits.

Let’s say you were looking to get $500 off a stay in New York City. I would start in the Chase Travel portal, then filter to one of the brands eligible for the one-time $250 credit.

In this example, I’m choosing IHG, since it has a large footprint.

I immediately see two properties bookable through The Edit, and I know these are eligible for stacking because they have an extra note: “Eligible for $250 select hotel credit & IHG One Rewards.”

Note that these credits won’t apply at the time of booking; they’ll be applied to your statement after your stay. It may take up to eight weeks for both statement credits to post to your account.

CHASE

Giselle Gomez, managing editor of credit cards, recently stacked her statement credits for a stay at the Kimpton St Honoré Paris. They posted to her account almost immediately after booking.

While at the hotel, Giselle got to enjoy a room upgrade, free breakfast for two that would have otherwise cost 84 euros a day, a complimentary bottle of wine upon check-in and a $100 property credit that she used toward room service and drinks with her husband.

Limitations and restrictions to know before you book

You’ll need to stay at least two nights to trigger either credit, but you don’t have to book four nights to stack them. You can stack both credits on a single two-night stay.

If you’re into earning valuable Chase Ultimate Rewards points, you’ll want to keep in mind that you won’t earn points on the portion of your stay covered by either credit. However, you will still earn 8 points per dollar on any spend above the credits.

Finally, the hotel stay must be prepaid through the “Pay Now” option through Chase Travel to receive either credit.

Bottom line

Stacking the Sapphire Reserve’s Edit credit with the 2026 select hotel credit is one of the most straightforward ways to get up to $500 off a single stay. Simply find a property in The Edit that’s also part of an eligible brand, book two prepaid nights through Chase Travel, and both credits will apply to the same reservation.

Just note that the credits won’t appear right away, as it may take up to eight weeks for the credits to show up on your statement.

And, remember that the select hotel credit expires Dec. 31, so if you’ve been eyeing a stay at one of these properties, now is the time to book.
