Just terrific, I love your road-trips so much! Watching from Seattle.
I love this car and your videos about it. Thank you. Not working wipers for an Englisch car makes absolutely sense, because it never rains in the UK 😉
best car in the world sir
Love the old Rolls Royce but prefer my Champagne Blanc de Blancs.
Rebuilt engine fantastic
A noddy hat ! Love it
Great video. Thank you!
When you're paying Euro 39 for a set menu in a good hotel in France you understand why the French aren't buying holiday homes in the UK.
That wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be! It’s such a beautiful vehicle in what seems like its natural habitat. Appreciate you taking us along and I’m glad to hear the Shadow will live on!
Hello; I just came across your program and I am thrilled with your choice of subject matter and presentation. I felt as if I was on the trip with you – except I didn't speak! Really, I will enjoy staying in touch with whatever comes along. Thanks! Ron, Pasadena, California
It's a pity those Wipers couldn't hang on until near Ypres, which would have been a nice segue into the name given to the town by the WW1 soldiers
Next time. The "Corniche", if you please. Who's your companion?
Whats the watch model?
Sikver Shadow is such a legend.
I love your Rolls Royce adventures. I used to have an old VW bus and alway took spare wheel bearings and other spares when we drove it to the South of France when the kids were little. Looking forward to your next Rolls Royce adventure 😀👌
The Shad journey to the arctic circle was the video that brought me to Harry's Garage. So I love this wine-fetching-trip to france as much. Great classic car! On the other hand, all those "yet another supercar" videos are not my thing at all.
I love these road trip videos, they are without a doubt my favorite ones.
The historical context you provided really helped me understand deeply
You must be mistaken … Rolls-Royces do not break down
Wonderful ! – I really enjoyed that. ❤. That Rolls still earns lots of affection from the viewers.
39:09 what a majestic atmosphere.
My mom had a Caribbean blue one of these. It was great on straight roads. I fixed this starter motor one time with a hammer and it started right up.
I would like to know if Mercedes had wiper issues in the 70s. Sorry to say, but 70s Mercedes are unmatched
I hope I'm not the only person who has watched this multiple times. This is now my official must have car. Thank you Harry for making the world want a Silver Shadow.
Regarding the wiring, if you look at a factory Silver Shadow or Corniche service manual and flip back to the gatefold electrical diagrams, there is fine print at the bottom that reads "Theoretical Wiring Diagram." 🤣
Creaky old British motors and French wine… what's not to love? I am immensely envious sitting here at my desk in New York, but also immensely grateful that you make these films and share your experiences with us. They're so enjoyable because we know how much of a great time you're having!
first of your vids I've seen as I'm thinking of getting a shad – what a great watch, first class!
We're going to France, innit!
What weather app do you use Harry?
Harry, have you tried Millers 20W50 engine oil? I use it in all my cares. good stuff and likely to help your oil consumption. You can order it online and in bulk.
The hotel in the beginning looks like the one from Day Of The Jackal
Very interesting. Is it true that a Rolls has around three times the number of parts than an average, plebian motorcar?
20:30 Well, we that look at the car from the outside, notice very much the blue smoke. Add the veeping from the engine itself, that'll do ya.
Glad to see you back! Making good progress with the car too. It'll be "fun" seeing you move the engine, removing those plates, and lowering the car, without reaching a potin where everything takes up the same space 😅😂. Especially without dry sump and a flow-optimized header.
Regarding changing the car from what it was, I think you're doing the right thing. You're cultivating and developing what was once great into your own, great build.
YouTube likes consistency above all else. Upload at the same time, same day, every week. Although I like the long format videos, we all know how Project Binky looks like for YouTube.
Don't forget to refill the Detroit couplings.
All id say is living the dream, picking up champagne in a rolls
Wonderful old car , am looking at getting a classic and these are a bargain really ( loosely speaking )
Perfect viewing after a Friday driving my tanker
All the best Harry and happy new year.
If compressions of the engine are good and cylinder walls look good, I would try flushing the engine to reduce oil consumption before going the rebuild route
Probably cheaper to just keep putting oil in it than doing a rebuild if it still runs fine should be happy days , unless its leaking oil just replace that seal that would be cheaper than a rebuild for a car you dont drive all the time , if you got plenty off money then do a full rebuild on the motor who cares then , its a roller probably will still use oil somewhere else😅
My favourite roller them i love the look off them i had the pleasure once to go for a ride in one was amazing very comfortable and smooth , interesting about the French champagne tho my mum loves the cheapest Wolfblass champagne made in the Barrosa Valley in SA Adelaide Australia ive brought her some expensive French stuff and she recons it tastes like rotten vinegar 😂 thank goodness for that her favourite stuff only costs $ 9 dollars Australian for a bottle 😊 That reminds me her birthday in a few days time I'll have to get some more 😅
Really enjoy the voyage videos in the classics , keep it up
At 36 minutes- sounds like a wheel bearing-
What's with the Moose Harry? I mean, that looks a little Canuckish mate. Pretty tight door gaps there as well. 😀
