You Won’t Believe What Happened on our Kenya Safari (Masai Mara)

Today we’re in the Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, in search of one of Kenya’s elusive leopards. We’ve already been in the Masai Mara for two days and seen some incredible wildlife sightings, but one of my favourites has so far managed to avoid us. For my final 2 days in the Masai Mara, I’m hoping my dream of stumbling across one of the Mara’s leopards will come true.

  1. Heading there with kids next week from Arkansas. We are originally from India. Looking forward to the experience. Thank you for sharing this video which is like a preview for us. Almost didn't want to watch it just in case it became a spoiler!!

  2. Just back from my first trip to Kenya. Was absolutely wonderful! The Mara was spectacular. Was lucky enough to get views of the Big 5, the Samburu special 5 and not forgetting, the Ugly 5! (which are actually all really awesome looking).

  3. I am in the early phase of planing for a safaritrip in 2026 and already found a liking to go to Amboseli, Lake Navasha and Masai Mara.
Some principal questions about tipping and accomodation. Should I tipp in dollars or kenyan shillings. Is mobile money useful at the safari or do I need enough local money.
The camp where you resided seem to have 1 room for a lot of people. No problem for me if they can tolerate my snoring.
At the other side you seemed to have a private safari with only 2 people in the car, best option and how affordable is that compared to an shared safari

  4. Ella your videos are stunning and so beautifully edited. I’m off to the Masai Mara for the second time next week. It’s a very magical place as your videos depict. Thank you for sharing them.

  5. My mom and her sister were born and raised in Kenya, she spoke Swahili better than she did English. When she moved back to England it took a year or two to get used to being back home and couldn't even sleep because she was so used to the sound at night time.

  6. I am going on a Safari in Kenya and Tanzania in a couple of weeks, I wasn't planning to bring a DSLR, but when I see your videos (by the way, excellent !!) and saw what gear you had use on Safari, since I also have a GH5 and a Leica Panasonic 12-60mm. I would like to know which lens did you use most? I hate to carry heavy gear, was initially planning to just use an iPhone 15 Pro Max and a monopod, but after seeing your videos, I might regret not bringing the GH5. What would you have recommended? bring the GH5 or iPhone 15 Pro Max suffice, FYI.. I am 62yrs old.

  7. Hallo.I am going to fly over Africa for some days at least, because I like it and because I don't get busy about traffic.I liked very much your moments with the leopard. Our Lisa is not with us any more.I need a year to forget it.I am lieng?Of course.Love.Bye.

  8. Nice video Ella! I’m excited on our June 7 days African Safari experience in Kenya.
Can I ask if drone is legal to be flown? Or do you need to pay or get license or something? I saw you have some drone footages. I’m planning to bring my drone too.😊
