The Shetani lava flow is a geological feature located in the Tsavo West National Park in Kenya. It was formed about 500 years ago when lava erupted from the nearby Chyulu Hills and flowed down into the valley below. The lava flow is approximately 8 km long and 1.6 km wide, and is characterized by a rough, black, and jagged surface.

The name “Shetani” means “devil” in Swahili, and the local Maasai people believed that the lava flow was the work of evil spirits. However, geologists explain that the unusual shapes and patterns of the lava flow were formed by the cooling and solidification of molten rock, resulting in unique formations like lava tubes, caves, and pillars.
