Route 66 is the United State’s historic highway that was established in 1926, It is over 2,400 miles, and it goes from Santa Monica, California to Chicago, Illinois. The route was used by many who migrated west during the 1900s and it was popularized in songs, TV series and The Grapes of Wrath. My dad and I went on a full Route 66 road trip over 14 days in June of 2019 and made this video to share what the route looked like during that time period and to encourage others to drive this historic road.

Chevy Chase National Lampoon road maybe!
so nice bro, what camera+lens did you use for filming?
Wow! I believe a real person, a real voice is actually talking to us and not a horrific AI digital soulless voicebox. What a joy. I’ve watched virtually all the Route 66 videos I could find since it holds some very strong emotions in my life. All our relatives were in New York and we live in Los Angeles and since I was a small boy, once a year we would take Route 66 to Chicago and then I believe the Lincoln Highway, which is now is I-80 into New York. It is even to this day my most magnificent memories. And now I still go up through as much of Route 66 that’s still around. To make it even more sentimental, my father, my hero, used to write for a TV series called “Route 66“ were two young men traveled the route each week getting involved in people’s lives.
Me gustaría que este video tuviera audio con IA 😢

Awesome vid eo!!!!!!
This is how I see America, Route 66 captures the history, colors and personality that country truly has. Regardless of the political leader, THAT is the America I want to live in.
A great video, however I think you should return when places are open 😁
Thanks for posting.
In the fall of 2020 I did the Chicago to the halfway point of Rt 66 and stopped in Oct. to return in April 2021 to complete the route. My goal was to do it when I was 66 years old on a 1966 motorcycle. I finally realized my mechanical skills aren't up to par to keep an older bike going if there were mechanical issues. Instead, I rode a small cruiser-style motorcycle with faux leather side bags and a top bag. It sort of had the look. There were so many things that were still closed because of the pandemic and I want to do it again.
This is the second time I'm watching your RT66 journey. You and Pops are always fun and show the best spots. Thank you.
Watching From Sri Lanka .I’ve always dreamed of traveling along Route 66 someday. Please wish me luck in making this dream come true! And when I finally complete my trip, I’ll definitely leave another comment to share my experience.
Enjoying your videos! Your dad is amazing! Have been on route 66 several times.

Another thing to visit in the Springfield, MO area: Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, located just southwest of the metro area and about 10 minutes south of Route 66. Good modern visitors center and a nice preserved battlefield covering the history of an early battle in the American Civil War.
Wasn't there a musical road along rte 66 east of Albuquerque?
Orange you glad you made this trip when you did? The Bono's Giant Orange is gone now, and Bono's has closed.
I've been watching with my family to prepare for our trip. Your videos helped a ton to find good spots.
We can’t wait to do route 66 😍😍
Thanks for the long video: I may go through the 66 in the future.

Amazing Journey..
In 1951 I was 6 years old and my mom and dad and grandparents were examining a map on the dining room table because we were moving from Iowa to California. We traveled Route 66. I remember the petrified forest, the painted desert, and the Grand Canyon especially. It is fun to see some of the places I must have seen then, in your video. Thanks.
So with this being already over six years ago, when can we expect a sequel/redo video of this trip? 😏
This highway is lake the museum of highways. Route 66
