Great advice. I started checking fluids in my car before every road trip. Also keep a pair of tennis shoes in case the car breaks down and I need to walk. I keep an umbrella, rain hat and sweater in the car year round just in case.
Having an air tire pump is a godsend. Got mine from a hardware store. Try and find one with both a 12volt connection and a standard 110 plug. Always keep the instructions in the container. If not, make sure you have the brand and model number available if you need to search for a digital version.
You forgot knee pads. My dad gave me knee pads for changing my tire. He also gave me a stuffed animal or two incase I came upon an accident with kids in the car.
