UK: Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh has completed its transition to The Unlimited Collection by The Ascott Limited following a full refurbishment of the historic Princes Street property.
The 169-room hotel has introduced a design inspired by Scotland’s landscapes, literature and vintage travel, alongside a range of locally-focused guest experiences aimed at immersing visitors in Edinburgh’s culture and heritage.
Designed by Bell&Swift, the renovated guest rooms offer leather detailing, patterned fabrics and nods to traditional train carriages, combining historic charm with modern day comfort.
The hotel has also launched new food and beverage concepts including Eidyn restaurant and bar, which features an “Amber Hour” evening ritual offering complimentary haggis and whiskey-flavoured popcorn. Guests will also be able to take part in whiskey and gin masterclasses, curated excursions and Scottish-inspired cultural experiences.
Billy Hughes, area general manager UK and Ireland at The Ascott Limited, said: “Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh completing its transition to The Unlimited Collection marks an exciting new chapter for both the hotel and the city.”
James Fraser, general manager of Mount Royal Hotel Edinburgh, added: “Unveiling the hotel’s new look and feel, and unique immersive offering, is an exciting milestone. We’re bringing the city’s culture, history, and creativity to life in every corner of the hotel, from our design and dining experiences to curated local excursions. Our goal is to offer guests a stay that is unmistakably Edinburgh, with moments they’ll remember long after they leave.”
The property is the seventh hotel globally to join The Unlimited Collection portfolio, which includes culturally focused hotels in destinations such as Dublin, Singapore and Vietnam.
