Italy: Owner-operator Minor Hotels has opened the Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze, the first hotel under the Colbert Collection worldwide.
Located on Via Porta Rossa, in the historic centre of Florence, the hotel is housed in building once used for silk merchants. Today, it has been transformed into a 69-room hotel, with one of the six signature suites occupying a 13th-century medieval tower.
Amenities include two meeting rooms, a bistro bar and a restaurant launching in June from Michelin-starred chef Paulo Airaudo.
Gonzalo Aguilar, Minor Hotels’ CEO for Europe and Americas, said: “Colbert Collection represents a new chapter for Minor Hotels. The brand celebrates individuality and invites guests to discover hotels that are deeply rooted in their own world while bonded by a common sensibility. Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze perfectly expresses this philosophy, being a hotel with a soul – rich in story, generous in spirit, and deeply connected to its city. We are honoured to usher it into a new chapter while preserving everything that makes it extraordinary.”
Colbert Collection is a premium soft brand for independent hotels. Following the debut of Porta Rossa Hotel Firenze, the brand will expand in the UK and Asia with the opening of The WestFill Mayfair Hotel in London (Q4 2026) and Colbert Collection Koh Samui in Thailand (Q1 2027).
