  1. Lake Superior is the largest fresh water Lake in the world. If you turned it on its side it would cover the whole Eastern shore. You need to learn about a place before you go. Lakes don’t have tides, LS has seiches. They cause the whole lake to shift. Pretty impressive. I urge you to go back after you read. It is one of the most impressive places in North America. That said I really enjoy your interaction with your father.
Go back to Duluth, do Skyline drive, see and climb Enger tower and walk the gardens to the bell tower from our sister city. You will go past twin lakes located at the top of Skykine. I used to hike to it as a kid. You missed Rustic Lodge outside of Duluth and the ore docks. You can take a tour boat out into the bay to view them, some of the largest in the world. Time your next visit around the arrival or departure of the largest laker the Tregurtha. At the aerial lift you are close enough to see the faces and hear the shouts of the crew. You will hear the salute from the bridge of the ship to the bridge and back again. If the captain is on board there is a special salute. Anyway. There is so much you missed and I hope you go back. You can also access the Isle Royale National Park so go back! You will be glad you did!
The falls are. Beyond anything imaginable during ice out! It’s crazy and loud and magnificent! Glad you came and come back!!! I am in SC now and miss home with every fiber of my being! Duluth is a rare gem!

  2. Stayed at Nanabougiou several times. Before they closed up the lake side there were curved French doors all along that side out to the lawn. And the baths were in a room down the hall, with just a sink in each room. It more like a great camp. We came out in the evenings in pj’s and robes and sang songs accompanied by the piano. Great fun . Loved your video,as a life long Minnesotain I’m proud of how you’ve shown its beauty and uniqueness. ❤️🙏

  3. My channel started because of the north shore! I decided to hike the Superior Hiking Trail…one section at a time every weekend till I finished! It takes you from Duluth all the way to Canada, but it took me three years going one section at a time each week, further and further north! It was amazing!! You two only saw a small percentage of what the North Shore has to offer. You should make another trip! I have SO many videos of the area! Not to mention the rest of northern Minnesota is amazing also! Check that out too!! Lots of cool history!

  4. If you go to the area, the silver bay marina has an amazing point that you can climb along huge rocks and boulders out into the lake. And Beaver Bay has an agate museum that is lots of fun, too. Great views from the ski lift at Lutsen, and a fun alpine slide. Duluth alpine coaster is also worth a stop. Lots of fun all along the northshore!!

  5. I've driven PCH San Luis Obispo to Mendocino, Road to Hana, The Million Dollar Highway, Utah's Highway 12 Scenic Byway, and Monument Valley. Lake Superior's North Shore stacked up to all of those and we only made it from Duluth to Silver Bay.
