Poor in money, rich in character. I was an out of stater that got lost before in West Virginia looking for a coal mine tour. I stopped at a small shop in the middle of nowhere. A customer was listening as I asked for directions and then suddenly says follow him, he knew where it was and could get me there. What he didn’t tell me is that it was 40 minutes of slow backroads driving away. I was totally far away from the mine. Once we got there, he just waved and said enjoy then drove off. Talk about an outstanding person. And everyone I encountered in West Virginia was just as kind and warm. Don’t bash the people by material possessions, they deserve respect.
So Beautiful Green………………………
That where maga live
I love. Nick show ❤
Wow- Welch is fabulous. Still. What a beautiful setting.
When i hit that 1.7 billion lottery im gonna buy that town!!
내가 동경하던 제일 잘 사는 나라인 미국에도 저런 폐허와 시골이 있다니..그리고 시골의 모습은 어느나라나 비슷하다는것이 신기하네요
Beautiful and peaceful ❤
Dollar general taking Walmarts place wonder somehow if they don’t own them too!
The 400 people are too poor to leave!
Just because a town doesn’t have any reported crimes doesn’t mean there weren’t any. Not every town and city report their crime statistics to the FBI, which is where those numbers come from.
This life I can not go there. Hope in the next one. From Vietnam.
You say welsh it’s Welch with a “cha” they make profits from people like myself that go up there to 4wheel
No wonder everyone is on drugs. How depressing
Where's the people?
Appalachia has always fascinated me. I wish there was some quiet industry that could revive the area, but not overrun it.
What a place to live
25:40 He didn’t check to see if there was a quarter in the coin return!
Wow the 40’s look like way more FUN than now!!
those little towns remind me of the one in the hills have eyes movie
We must understand Walmart and Dollar General don’t destroy towns… the people choose to spend their money there to the point smaller businesses cannot survive. The trick is to keep these type of stores out of your community and work to support the smaller businesses to keep more money local. However, it is extremely difficult to influence other people’s spending. Internet is another challenge which ships out the dollars too. When the Walmart can’t survive due to low volumes… the small businesses are ALREADY GONE.
Please don't whine. If I show you how the Russian countryside lives, you'll be shocked. It's a place of extreme poverty, broken roads, and a world that resembles the post-war era. Even in the video, the poverty is evident, but it's not as dire as it could be.
Kinda reminds me of Red Dead Redemption game when you’re walking through the old towns except there were actually people in the game and not a ghost town. I actually like the ghost town feel. You just get what you need and go home.
I could totally live there. Save up my money to go on vacation somewhere nice.
Keep the real estate price on the down low. If the speculators realize what they can grab them latter profit from they will do it.
The term "3rd World" in your title isn't correct, not even metaphorically. Have you seen videos of people walking/driving through actual 3rd world countries? There's trash everywhere, cops on motorcycles will detain you for filming (even if you have correct papers from the government) and will demand $50 from you unless you want to get arrested for the day…downed power lines, trash in the rivers, trash in the street and sidewalks, crumbling buildings, corrugated metal roof shacks instead of single family homes, very few automobiles, distant gunshots, kidnappings in broad daylight. I saw NONE of that in this video. I saw older but well-kept buildings, clean, maintained sidewalks, quite nice vehicles, almost perfectly paved roads and bridges, no one tried to kill you for your phone, etc. Lose the title, dude.
My uncle used to be a cop in Kimbell in late70s and early 80s. Barney Rowe jr.😮😮😮😮😮😮
If I had no money issues, and was set for life if love to live in an area like this … peaceful, quiet, and beautiful
How sad that it ended up looking like a ghost town.
It may seem run down , must say the streets are clean .now to see as you get further into the town .
And they think a billionaire understands what they are going through and will help them. DUMB
