Huey Magoo’s is rolling out a smaller, free-standing drive-thru prototype with the goal of reducing franchisee development costs by up to 40%. The model measures about 1,850 square feet versus the brand’s average 2,600 square feet and is designed to fit on half-acre parcels.
The model features a centralized ordering area, perimeter dining and a digital menu board, with indoor seating for 37 customers and outdoor seating for 18. A reduced-size and reconfigured kitchen uses designated cooking zones that supports speed and consistency, while allowing for additional storage or cooler space as needed.
“With rising costs across real estate and construction, we’ve focused on creating a scalable, cost-effective design that makes development more accessible for franchisees,” CEO Andy Howard said in a press release.
The unit was designed in-house by Melissa McCammack, the company’s director of architecture and design. She said in a press release that the layout prioritizes efficient movement for both guests and employees while maintaining an open feel.
Orlando, Florida-based Huey Magoo’s has nearly 90 locations across 12 states and expects to surpass 100 units by the end of 2026. The company is targeting experienced franchisees committing to opening at least three locations within three years.
