UK: Five-star Hotel Café Royal, part of The Set Collection, has named Eugene Leonard as general manager.
Leonard joins the property from the Maybourne Hotel Group, most recently serving as general manager of Maybourne Beverly Hills for three years.
Overall, he spent 15 years with Maybourne, including roles as hotel manager at Claridge’s and The Connaught in London.
At Hotel Café Royal, Leonard will report directly to The Set Collection‘s chief operating officer, Philip Haller.

Haller added: “Eugene brings a wealth of experience [to the hotel], and we are confident he will build on the exceptional work of the past decade. His leadership, alongside our dedicated team, will continue to elevate the property as one of London’s leading hotels.”
Located on Regent Street in London, Hotel Café Royal offers 159 guest rooms and suites, a selection of restaurants and bars, and a holistic wellbeing concept, Akasha.
Former managing director Guillaume Marly recently announced his departure from the hotel after seven years. Writing on LinkedIn, he said he will be starting a “new role and project” in London on 1 October.
