Worldwide: Xavier Mufraggi, former CEO of Club Med, has been appointed chief executive officer of hostel brand Generator as the company plans to double its footprint by 2030.
Following Brookfield’s acquisition of Generator in 2025, Mufraggi joins the business with more than 20 years’ global leadership experience, including a decade leading Club Med’s North America and Caribbean division.
Prior to this, he held marketing, commercial and product development roles at Kraft Foods; served as global managing director for Fosun Group; and chief executive officer of YPO.
“Generator has always stood for something much bigger than affordable accommodation,” said Mufraggi. “Its mission to keep city travel affordable while creating places that reflect the culture and character of each destination is what drew me to the business. We also want to become the leading hospitality company focused on accelerated career opportunities for young diverse talent, those with a strong work ethic and a passion for people.”

Mufraggi joins Generator as the brand prepares for three openings and plans to renovate some of its assets in London, Paris, Dublin, and Hamburg throughout 2026 and 2027.
The brand said it would focus on the acquisition of centrally located four-star hotels as well as the adaptive reuse of offices, warehouses and government buildings to drive future growth.
