Worldwide: Private equity firm KSL Capital Partners has united two of its brands, Baillie Lodges and Tierra Hotels, under one luxury brand called Beckons.
Beckons has launched with nine locations across four continents. Each property averages 25 suites and operate on an all-inclusive model.
Founded in Australia, Baillie Lodges is a collection of luxury properties including the wilderness camp Longitude 131* (Australia) and Huka Lodge (New Zealand).
KSL acquired a majority stake in Baillie Lodges in 2018. Baillie Lodges then added Tierra Hotels to its offering in 2022.
In Chile, Tierra Hotels is a collection of lodges set within remote locations. Its portfolio includes Tierra Atacama, located high in the Altiplano of northern Chile, which reopened in 2025 after a $20 million refurbishment.
The two brands – Baillie and Tierra – are now consolidated under Beckons. Plans for the combined portfolio includes the addition of wellness facilities at Silky Oaks Lodge and The Louise, alongside premium suites at Tierra Patagonia.
“Our portfolio is a platform for travellers to experience the world more deeply through genuine cultural exchange,” said Michael Crawford, CEO of Beckons. “We believe meaningful travel should enrich everyone it touches: our guests, our teams, and the places that welcome us. Our people are at the heart of that hospitality philosophy, bringing a generosity of spirit and a shared commitment to emotional connection, regeneration, and cultural continuity to every journey.”
