Hungary: IHG Hotels & Resorts has expanded its luxury lifestyle portfolio Vignette Collection in Hungary, adding its first property in the country Verno House Budapest.
Located between the Danube River and Liberty Square, Verno House features 48 guest rooms across deluxe, premium and suite categories, with city or park views.
The hotel’s 106-cover restaurant Flava Kitchen & More serves guests both indoors and outdoors on its side-street terrace. It offers a menu inspired by North African, Latin American, and Middle Eastern dishes. The restaurant will host a live DJ at the weekends.
The BOTANIQ Collection Wellness Department at Verno House features a Turkish steam bath, Finnish sauna, whirlpool bath, and fitness centre. BOTANIQ toiletries can also be found in the guest rooms.
General manager of Verno House, Tamás Nehéz said: “We are excited to see Verno House open as IHG’s first Vignette Collection hotel in Budapest. The team have worked hard to ensure that the experience available to guests is true to our heritage, offering a haven of tranquillity to those who wish to explore what our capital has to offer. Now, part of Vignette Collection, Verno House is looking forward to inviting our first guests and offering meaningful and memorable stays in this one-of-a-kind hotel.”
Signature brand features of Vignette Collection includes Memorable Rituals, which aims to showcase each hotel’s identity. At Verno House, a Treat Bar – staged in the lobby – offers a range of candies and chocolates paying homage to Hungarian culture and heritage for guests to sample.
As part of IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow ESG plan, each Vignette Collection hotel also runs its own ‘A Means For Good’ initiative, partnering with a local non-profit organisation. Available to purchase within the mini bar, Verno House has partnered with Kék Madár Alapítvány (Blue Bird Foundation) which promotes workplace opportunities for those with disabilities through its chocolate brand, BeSweet, created by employees with disabilities.
There are now 18 open hotels within the Vignette Collection with a further 20 in the pipeline.
