I bought a Fisker Karma — and thought it would be fun to drive it 2000 miles from Texas to Massachusetts. Spoiler: It wasn’t.

What should’ve been a 30-hour road trip turned into 57 hours of breakdowns, overheating, and sheer regret. In total, I stopped 27 times just to keep the car running. This is easily one of the most painful (but somehow hilarious) road trips I’ve ever done.

If you’ve ever wondered why people say “never daily a Fisker Karma”… this is your answer.

  1. Why don't you remove the positive and negative and Link them together for 10 minutes? That might help you a lot longer drive cuz it does work sometimes for me it kind of erases everything from the system. I mean you're still comes back but it takes a while for it to come back

  2. If you want a cheap swap and something different swap the Fisker with a Buick 231 L67 Supercharged Series II or an L32 Series III Supercharged V-6 as these can be brought pretty cheap at junkyards and even a remain 3800 Series II or III Supercharged V–6 can be had for $1600.00 with core.

  3. Electric cars, like normal cars, don't actually offer the "advertised" mileage to the charge or gallon. Due to weather, road conditions and way you drive. But electric cars wear out the battery after about 5 years or 80k miles. Then you need a whole new battery shortly after that.
