Holland America Line’s Westerdam has officially returned to service following a comprehensive two-week dry dock renovation in Singapore. The Vista-class ship welcomed guests back on January 18, 2026, for a 14-day Far East Discovery sailing, revealing a suite of structural and aesthetic enhancements designed to elevate the onboard experience.
A significant portion of the renovation focused on the Crow’s Nest, a popular lounge area. The space has been redesigned to serve as an intimate entertainment hub, featuring a new bandstand stage, modernized flooring, and upgraded audio and lighting systems suitable for live music and lectures. In terms of accommodations, the ship’s capacity has increased with the addition of 11 new Ocean View staterooms. Furthermore, suites and Verandah staterooms received new carpeting, while bathrooms on deck eight underwent complete renovations including new vanities and bathtubs.
Public spaces throughout the vessel were also refreshed. The central Atrium now displays new furniture and wall coverings, with updates extending into guest corridors and the Greenhouse Spa & Salon. Dining venues such as the Italian specialty restaurant Canaletto received interior updates, and the poolside Dive-In food stand introduced a streamlined counter for improved service. The retail experience was also enhanced with a reimagined, open-concept Effy Lounge designed for jewelry consultations.
Coinciding with the ship’s return, Holland America Line is offering a “Start Your Journey” promotion. This limited-time offer includes fare discounts, upgrades, and onboard credits for bookings made by February 26, 2026, with specific bonuses available for Alaska itineraries.
