Golf and cruising.. sounds like the perfect vacation for some.  And now those two worlds are coming together.   Viking, the first cruise line to operate more than 100 cruise ships, has just signed a multi-year deal with the PGA Tour.

Announced today, the agreement names Viking as the Official Cruise Line of the PGA TOUR and the PGA TOUR Champions.

The partnership is set to run through 2030. Over the next several years, Viking will be featured across various digital platforms and media broadcasts during PGA TOUR events.

A Natural Fit

The goal is to introduce the cruise line’s destination-focused sailings to a broader audience of golf-lovers.  And Viking knows that golf is already a favorite activity for many of its guests.

Both golf and travel are important priorities in the lives of many Viking guests, so partnering with the PGA TOUR is a natural fit and builds on our continued commitment to support cultural programming and events,” said Richard Marnell, Viking’s Executive Vice President of Marketing.

A History of World-Class Partnerships

While this PGA Golf partnership is a big deal, Viking has spent decades forming other partnerships with brands its guests love even when they aren’t cruising.

Here are a few other partnerships Viking has made in the past:

  • The British Museum & The Metropolitan Opera
  • The Los Angeles Philharmonic
  • PBS’s MASTERPIECE: a staple partnership for Viking that began in 2011

The company also recently announced a long-term agreement with the Norwegian Football Federation.

As the main sponsor for Norway’s National Team Academy and its youth national teams, Viking is taking part in the “Future Vikings” program, which helps develop the next generation of stars.

This investment in youth sports honors the heritage of Viking’s founder, Torstein Hagen, in his home country of Norway.

Today, Viking operates a fleet of more than 100 vessels, including over 80 river ships, 12 ocean ships, and two purpose-built expedition ships designed for the polar regions.
