MARIPOSA — Deep in Mariposa County’s foothills, Sierra Cider is transforming its cider orchard into a chilling Halloween attraction called “Camp STABapple.”  Opening on October 18th and running until October 27th, the haunted maze immerses visitors in a nightmarish twist on classic summer camp memories among 800 apple trees.

A Haunting Tale of a Summer Camp Gone Wrong

Initially, the maze tells the eerie story of a 1980s summer camp that shut down after a series of unexplained disappearances.   Moreover, Camp STABapple’s layout stretches across four rows of trees.  Therefore, blending Sierra Cider’s natural environment with elaborate set designs and live actors.  As a result, the immersive experience evokes a sense of nostalgia tinged with fear, as visitors creep through the darkened path.

Bailey continues, “The maze integrates our working cidery’s natural environment with elaborate set pieces and live actors to create an unforgettable experience that will have visitors questioning every crunch of a leaf as they creep through the orchard in the dead of night.”

Additionally, for those seeking a thrilling experience, the maze targets guests aged 13 and older, with each walkthrough lasting around 20 minutes.  Furthermore, nearly complete darkness adds to the thrill, making every step through the haunting setting an unsettling experience.
