The Maldives: Luxury real estate developer Dar Global has partnered with The Trump Organisation to launch an ultra-luxury resort in the Maldives, with plans to fund the project via crypto investments.

The project marks the first in the Maldives for Trump Hotels, and what the company says is the first tokenised hotel development worldwide. Investors will be offered ownership stakes through the purchase of digital tokens.

It is located around 25 mins via speedboat from Malé and will feature 80 beach and overwater villes. It is set to open by the end of 2028.

Eric Trump, EVP of The Trump Organisation, said: “We are delighted to bring the Trump brand to the Maldives in collaboration with Dar Global. This development will not only redefine luxury in the region but also set a new benchmark for innovation in real estate investment through tokenisation.”

Ziad El Chaar, CEO of Dar Global, said: “Dar Global continues to push boundaries, from developing world-class destinations to pioneering new investment structures. Tokenising the development of Trump International Hotel Maldives marks a global first that blends luxury, innovation, and technology in a way that will transform how the world invests in hospitality.”

The Maldives project is the latest collaboration between Dar and Trump. Seven other sites are in development, including an 80-storey tower in Dubai, a golf resort in Qatar, and hotels and high-end homes across Saudi Arabia and Oman.
