Australia: The StandardX, sister brand to The Standard, will debut on 8 August 2024 in Melbourne.

Located in the Fitzroy suburb of Melbourne, the first StandardX hotel has been designed by Melbourne-based firm Hecker Guthrie. Interiors throughout the eight-storey building take inspiration from the area’s post-punk music scene.

The hotel’s 125 rooms range from ‘cozy king’ to ‘suite spot’ across seven different room types. In-room amenities include a SMEG kettle, Frank Green French Press, 50” LG Smart TVs, Ultimate Ears audio speakers, toiletries by Davines, and more.

Food and beverage venues include the all-day Thai restaurant BANG led by executive chef Justin Dingle-Garciyya. The Roof is available exclusively to hotel guests and serves a Mexican menu.

In the lobby, The Box is a retail concept selling a mix of daily essentials, wellness items and fashion, as well as snacks and drinks.

The StandardX will launch its second location in Bangkok Phra Arthit, according to the brand’s website.

Standard International Holdings is the parent company of The Standard Hotels portfolio, which includes The Standard, The Peri Hotels and Bunkhouse Group, in addition to The StandardX and an upcoming, new luxury hotel The Manner which is scheduled to launch in New York City this September.
