Sweetgreen launches its limited-time Summer Seasonal Menu Tuesday, featuring three bowls that highlight flavor-forward farm-fresh produce from the fast-casual’s grower partners.

The Peach + Goat Cheese and Elote Bowl return to the menu, while the Chicken Caprese is a completely new addition.

“We’re working with a really exciting peach grower in California,” said Nic Jammet, chief concept officer of the Los Angeles-based fast casual, during a media tasting of the summer menu at a Sweetgreen location in New York City. “With the Peach + Goat Cheese salad, we can celebrate the fruit and tell their story.”

The chain’s California locations use peaches from Frog Hollow Farm in Brentwood, California, pairing the fresh fruit with goat cheese, toasted almonds, fresh basil and house-made balsamic vinaigrette.

The new Chicken Caprese salad combines roast chicken, fresh pesto, pearl mozzarella and vine-ripened summer tomatoes from Lady Moon Farms where available. Salad greens and balsamic vinaigrette round out the bowl.

Caprese

The Chicken Caprese salad is the newest entry on Sweetgreen’s summer menu.

“We already had pesto on the menu, but we’re bringing in mozzarella and summer tomatoes for the Caprese,” said Jammet. While a traditional Caprese doesn’t include chicken, that addition boosts the protein, he added—a nutrient many consumers are prioritizing.

The third limited-time item is the Elote Bowl, a mix of roasted corn, bell peppers, olive oil-drizzled summer tomatoes, goat cheese and tortilla chips with a lime-cilantro vinaigrette. The fresh corn is sourced from Ray’s Heritage Farm and the bell peppers from Lipman Family Farms.

“This seasonal menu is the result of our deep-rooted partnerships with trusted farmers, and we’re thrilled to bring our guests food that not only tastes delicious, but also honors the people who grow it,” Jammet noted.

Although the Summer Seasonal Menu officially debuts Tuesday, SG Rewards members have early digital access to the three items on Monday. The Peach + Goat Cheese and Elote Bowl are priced at $13.95, while the Chicken Caprese is $14.95.

Sweetgreen is working to change its image from “expensive” to “value,” targeting more of a $13 price point for its salads. Key to that value perception is the quality, flavor and integrity of its ingredients, which are represented in these three summer items.

To celebrate the return of its seasonal lineup, Sweetgreen will be popping up with exclusive partnerships, local activations and other perks available first to Rewards members.
