OAKHURST–Air and ground firefighters are responding to a structure fire that has spread into the vegetation near Road 426 and Sierra Lakes. The structure is reported to be fully involved and there are 2 spots into the vegetation. This will be the Sierra Fire. We will update this article when more information is available.

All evacuations have been lifted and the roads are open.

The fire is now contained.

The forward progress of the fire has been stopped. The evacuation warnings for zones MAD-E0359 and MAD-E0363 have been lifted.

The vegetation aspect of the fire has a line around at approximately 3 acres. Madera County Sheriff’s have issued evacuation warnings for evacuation zones MAD-E0357, MAD-E0359, MAD-E0363. The evacuation map is available here.
