SACRAMENTO—Golden 1 Credit Union has the pleasure of announcing that the application period for its 2025 Scholarship Program is open. California students pursuing higher education with strong academic and extracurricular backgrounds can apply until January 2025. Golden 1 will award up to $500,000 in scholarships to select students.
WHAT
Golden 1’s annual scholarship program provides dozens of members and their dependents with financial assistance. This can have value up to $20,000 per student, to attend full-time accredited, nonprofit two or four-year colleges or universities in California.
WHO
To qualify, students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, have at least 24 hours of community service or 24 hours of work experience in the past 12 months, and be a Golden 1 member or a dependent of a member. Dependents of Golden 1 employees are also eligible to apply.

Since launching the program in 2013, Golden 1 has awarded more than $4.5 million in scholarships to over 500 California students. Recipients range from incoming college freshmen to seniors attending in-state colleges or universities. In 2024, Golden 1 awarded nearly 50 scholarships to students throughout the state.
“Our scholarship program offers valuable educational opportunities for California students,” added Taylor. “We encourage all eligible students to apply as they pursue their academic goals, and we’re excited to see them grow into the next generation of leaders.”
