Holland America Line’s Zuiderdam has re-entered service following a two-week dry dock in the Bahamas, showcasing a series of upgrades and refreshed spaces for its Caribbean season. The Vista-class ship embarked from Miami on December 6, 2025, for a 17-day Eastern and Southern Caribbean cruise, presenting enhancements across its public areas and accommodations.
One significant change involved the Crow’s Nest, which was transformed into a more intimate entertainment hub. The space now includes a new bandstand stage designed for small-scale performances, lectures, and speaking engagements. The venue was also fitted with upgraded lighting and audio systems, creating a versatile setting for guests to enjoy enriching activities alongside panoramic views.

The dry dock included an expansion of the ship’s accommodations, with 11 new ocean view staterooms added on decks one and seven, consequently increasing guest capacity. A modernization effort took place across existing staterooms and suites. Specifically, all verandah staterooms on decks five through ten, as well as Neptune, Signature, and Pinnacle suites, received new carpeting. Verandah staterooms on Deck 8 received full bathroom updates, including new vanities, mirrors, tubs, and flooring. Additionally, approximately 300 other staterooms received updated wallpaper and new bathroom flooring.

Public areas and dining venues were also revitalized. New carpeting was installed throughout several key locations, including the Dining Room, Lido Market, Canaletto, guest corridors, and the Greenhouse Spa & Salon. The Atrium received new paint and carpeting, while dining chairs and banquettes in Canaletto and Lido Market were reupholstered. Other minor updates included a redesigned sales counter in the Photo Gallery and new furniture for the outdoor deck and hydro pool area. Guests sailing in the U.S. and Canada can utilize the “Save on Sunshine” promotion, which offers reduced cruise fares and onboard credit for select 2025 and 2026 departures.
