President and COO appointed at Obie Hospitality

US: Oregon-based hospitality, multifamily and retail developer and manager Obie Companies has promoted Curt Asmussen to president and chief operating officer of its Obie Hospitality division.

Asmussen served as vice president of Obie Hospitality for five years prior to his appointment. He also held the role of managing director and general manager at Obie’s Inn in Boise, Idaho. 

Overall, Asmussen has worked in hospitality for two decades, including service on the Boise Convention & Visitors Bureau’s board of directors.

He will relocate to the company’s headquarters in Eugene.

Brian Obie, CEO of Obie Companies, said: “Obie Hospitality has become keenly focused on growth through acquisition and development as we expand our portfolio of independent and branded hotels, including the recent purchase of the Residence Inn Boise Downtown/University as well as construction of the 75-room Gordon Hotel Corvallis set to open in spring of 2027.

“It was time for us to create a new position that is the nucleus for our ongoing expansion in our hospitality division. I’m thrilled to name Curt to the position given his extensive industry knowledge and long-term support and success here at Obie,” he added.
