Pokeworks is expanding its footprint in its home state of Florida, with a goal of opening 10 locations across the state over the next three years.
The expansion will focus on Orlando, Southwest Florida and several coastal cities. The brand currently operates locations in the Greater Orlando area and is seeking franchise partners to help facilitate the growth.
The move follows a period of significant momentum for the company, which operates 72 locations across the U.S., Canada and Taiwan. During the first half of the year, Pokeworks opened six new restaurants in states including California, Texas, Massachusetts, Tennessee and North Carolina.
“Florida has all the hallmarks of a strong market for Pokeworks,” Peter Yang, co-founder and head of development, said in a press release. “The Orlando area and Southwest Florida continue to see rapid population and tourism growth, making them prime territories for our expansion.”
Company officials cited Florida’s coastal climate and wellness-minded consumer base as primary factors for the push. The brand reports positive year-over-year sales and a 10% annual unit growth goal. Additionally, the company stated its loyalty program grew four times faster in the first seven months of this year compared to 2024.
Founded in 2015, Pokeworks offers customizable poke bowls, burritos and salads. The concept was created by a group of friends looking to bring Hawaiian-inspired flavors to the mainland, featuring options that cater to vegan and gluten-free diets.
The company is recruiting both single and multi-unit franchise operators. Prospective partners are offered training, operational support and marketing tools to assist with new restaurant launches.
