OAKHURST–Thirteen-year-old Abigail Gibbons has teamed up with Samaritan’s Purse to organize an Operation Christmas Child packing party. She’s collecting donations of school supplies, toys, and hygiene items from the community and inviting families to come together to pack shoeboxes.
Abigail shares, “This is a way to share the good news of Jesus with children all over the world and show others they are loved.”
Her goal is to pack 60 boxes, but with your help, she can pack even more. Join her on November 17th for a fun afternoon of packing boxes, making new friends, and enjoying cookies!
Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse that reaches out to children around the world who are in need. Participants will be filling shoeboxes with gifts, including toiletries, school supplies, and a ‘wow’ item for children ranging in age from 2 years of age to 14 years of age. Ministry participants will collect these shoeboxes at collection sites around the country during the third week of November. This year, Christ Church Anglican, 40447 Redbud Drive, Oakhurst, will be the drop-off location for the mountain area.
They will be open each day from November 18th until November 25th.
