This digital marketing workshop, co-hosted by FastCasual Editor Cherryh Cansler and Rev Ciancio, co-founder/CMO of Handcraft Burgers & Brew, Salad House CMO and Crazy Pita marketing director, provides tactics, tips and playbooks for restaurant marketers focused on growing brand awareness, guest acquisition, retention and creating brand evangelists.
Restaurant marketers looking to master the tactics and tools required for engaging customers and driving traffic won’t want to miss the inaugural Restaurant Marketing Workshop, June 2-3 in Indianapolis, at the Conrad, 50 W. Washington St.
Networld Media Group, the producers of the Fast Casual Executive Summit and several other well-known industry events and websites, will host the workshop with David “Rev” Ciancio, the co-founder and CMO of Handcraft Burgers & Brew, The Salad House’s CMO and Crazy Pita’s marketing director, serving as co-host and opening keynote.
“Very few events are designed for people performing the day-to-day work required to grow a restaurant brand; this workshop is for them,” said Cherryh Cansler, editor of FastCasual.com and co-host of the workshop.
Ciancio said one of the biggest hurdles in restaurant marketing is a lack of resources geared toward team members executing daily marketing strategies.
“I’m excited for this dedicated workshop to bridge the education gap, and it’s an honor to be a lead in delivering helpful tactics and strategies,” he said. “Every restaurant marketer should prioritize attending.”
What’s on the agenda?
The event kicks off on June 2 with a pre-show food crawl followed by lessons on how marketers can use third-party delivery companies to market their brands and a social media audit led by social media marketing gurus. Ciancio’s keynote, “Marketing Mechanics Before Magic” will precede an awards ceremony honoring “The Top 30 Movers & Shakers: Marketing” and networking events.
Networking time will be plentiful so attendees can meet with others informally to discuss proven concepts and find out what tech tools are available to make the daily job of marketing easy.
The rest of the workshop is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 3 and features a variety of training sessions led by the industry’s most successful marketers. They’ll offer tips, tricks and playbooks on:
- Customer acquisition tactics that actually work.
- Mastering local search.
- Growing loyalty programs that don’t suck.
- Tactical social media best practices.
- How to successfully pitch to media.
- Email marketing best practices.
- Profiting from gift cards.
- And lots of time to ask your marketing questions.
“The market demands a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves marketing masterclass,” said Kathy Doyle, CEO of Networld Media Group. “This gathering is aimed at restaurant operators and foodservice establishments focused on the rapidly changing digital landscape of restaurant marketing. We’ll teach you how to use today’s tools to drive new customers to the door, gain repeat customers and upsell customers for a greater ROI.”
Champion Management, the second-largest restaurant PR agency in the U.S., and Kathleen Wood, an expert in restaurant growth strategy, will also teach segments. Various other experts will also be on the agenda and will be added soon.
