MARIPOSA–One of Mariposa’s longest-standing community programs, Music on the Green features free, live concerts every Friday and Saturday of the summer at the Mariposa County Art Park. Produced by Andy Roberts and the Mariposa Arts Council, Music on the Green supports local and traveling musicians from all genres. It also draws visitors and residents alike to Mariposa’s vibrant, historic downtown community.

This weekend’s featured music guests are Skull Country and Cooked Drone.

Skull Country

Skull Country is a neo-western/Americana trio from Calaveras County led by multi-instrumentalist guitarist and percussionist Nicholas Lefler. Their sound is a fusion of country western and Spanish guitar. Skull Country was a highlight of the 2023 Music on the Green season and we are excited to have them back.

Crooked Drone

Crooked Drone is a Roots Americana trio from Bootjack, California. The band is lead by prolific singer songwriter and multi award winning banjo player T-ranch, Andy Roberts. Master percussionist and vocalist, and one of the hardest working musicians in Mariposa County, Jon Kidd plays drums and sings. Mariposa transplant from West Virginia via Venice Beach, Brother JD rounds out the band on electric bass and vocals.

Skull Country returns to Music on the Green on Friday, August 16 and Crooked Drone will be featured on Saturday, August 17.
