MARIPOSA — Get ready to experience holiday magic with the Merry Mountain Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting returning to Mariposa. This year’s theme is the “Polar Express.” Therefore, promising a night filled with joy, community spirit, and plenty of holiday cheer for all ages.
A Night of Festivities

Initially, to kick off the evening, the fun begins with the much-anticipated parade. Additionally, crowds will gather to watch as floats, performers, and local groups light up the streets of Mariposa. All floats in the parade will display their creative takes on the beloved “Polar Express” theme. Organized by the Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center, this event is free and open to the public, making it accessible to everyone.
Tree Lighting
After the parade, the festivities continue at the courthouse with the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Moreover, this cherished tradition brings the community together in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
Santa Claus & Treats
In addition, the Mariposa Lions Club will make the evening more delightful by offering free hotdogs, hot chocolate, and popcorn. Meanwhile, the Mariposa Rotary will host Santa’s Village. Here, families can meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and snap some memorable photos. For those looking to stay cozy, a large bonfire will be ready to help guests warm up as they enjoy the festive night.

For those participating in the parade, please check in at the picnic benches across from the Pioneer Market between 3:00 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. on the day of the parade to receive your entry number.
To sign up for the parade, pick up an application at the Mariposa Visitor Center.
