US: Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison has acquired the luxury waterfront Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa in Manalapan, Florida, for an undisclosed sum from the Lewis Trust Group.
The 309-room luxury resort has been owned by the Lewis family since 2003. It was under this ownership that the property rebranded from Ritz-Carlton to Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa in 2013.
Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts‘ Legend Collection, offers eight food and beverage venues, a 42,00-square-foot Eau Spa, three tennis courts, two pools, and more than 30,000-square-feet of meeting and event space.
Ellison will retain the current team and is planning to invest in future updates of the property.
Tim Nardi, general manager of Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa, said: “We are excited about the acquisition by the Ellison family. Ellison’s extensive experience in luxury hospitality brings a new level of innovation to the resort and we are confident that this transition will not only enhance the unique experiences we offer but also introduce new amenities and services, ensuring Eau Palm Beach remains a premier destination for our valued guests.”
The resort joins Four Seasons Resort Lanai, Sensei Lanai, Nobu Ryokan Malibu, Nobu Hotel Palo Alto, Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe, and Sensei Porcupine Creek within Ellison’s portfolio.
Simon Lewis, principal of the London-based Lewis Trust Group, said: “Our family feels privileged to have been a successful part of the Eau Palm Beach story. Though we are sorry to bring our tenure to a close, we are gratified in knowing that Larry Ellison will treasure the resort and guide its hoteliers to even greater heights.”
