Jimmy John’s opened its first Winnipeg location Friday, marking the sandwich chain’s debut in the city with free sandwiches for its first 100 customers.
The shop, located at 1740 Pembina Highway, features a drive-thru and a full menu of the chain’s signature sandwiches, including the Beach Club, Club Lulu and Italian Night Club, as well as classics such as The Pepe, J.J.B.L.T. and Turkey Tom.
In Canada, customers may also request toasted sandwiches, a unique option for the brand.
“Jimmy John’s is a real gem in our restaurant roster,” Peter Mammas, president and CEO of Foodtastic, which is leading the chain’s expansion into Canada, said in a company press release. “We bring the bread, the flavors and the value offering, you bring the appetite.”
Two additional Winnipeg locations are planned to open this fall — one at 1430 Ellice Ave. and another at 360 Broadway.
Jimmy John’s is part of Foodtastic, a Montreal-based restaurant franchisor with over 1,200 locations and $1 billion in sales across its portfolio.
