A recent analysis identified the most and least expensive airports in North America based on the combined average cost of a one-night hotel stay, one night of parking, and one pint of beer. The study, conducted against the backdrop of a significant 25% increase in airline ticket prices, focused on 50 of the busiest airports across the continent.

The results designated LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York City as the most expensive, with an average total cost of $381.41 for the three factors. This high cost was primarily driven by the average nearby hotel price of $332 per night. Following LGA were Denver International Airport (DEN) at $351.41, and Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) at $335.91.

Conversely, Tijuana International Airport (TIJ) in Mexico was found to be the least expensive, averaging a total spend of only $105.80. TIJ offered the lowest average hotel price at $77 per night. The second and third cheapest overall were William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) in Houston at $122.95, and Cancún International Airport (CUN) at $128.06.

In individual categories, the study revealed notable extremes. For parking, Nashville International Airport (BNA) was the most expensive at $42, while William P. Hobby (HOU) was the cheapest at $14. For beverages, Cancún International (CUN) charged the highest price for a pint of beer at $14.92, which is $6.90 above the average. Portland International (PDX) was the most affordable airport for a beer, charging $4.41 per pint. The analysis averaged prices from the three closest hotels to each airport and used economy parking rates for a consistent comparison based on data collected in June 2025.
