OAKHURST — Soroptimist of the Sierras invites the community to its 8th Annual Chili Cook-Off. Here, families can enjoy an afternoon packed with food, live music, raffles, and a dessert auction. All proceeds from the event will support local educational programs for women and girls in the mountain community.

To begin, eight local chefs and restaurants will compete for the title of “Best Chili,” giving attendees the chance to sample each entry and vote for their favorite. In addition to the chili sampling, tickets include a chili dinner with cornbread, dessert, and one raffle entry. Also, a hot dog bar with toppings will be available. Furthermore, event-goers can purchase soft drinks, beer, and wine on-site.
Adding to the lively atmosphere, local favorite “PB&J” will perform live music throughout the event. Attendees can win exciting raffle prizes or place bids during the dessert auction. As stated before, all proceeds will fund Soroptimist of the Sierras’ education projects for women and girls in the area.

Importantly, tickets cost $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12, with free admission for children under three. To guarantee a spot, Soroptimist of the Sierras encourages people to buy tickets in advance from their website.

The event will take place at the Oakhurst Community Center on Sunday, November 17th, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
