A new visitor contact station is opening at Cedar Breaks National Monument in Utah/NPS
Cedar Breaks National Monument in Utah plans to open a new visitor contact station on August 22 thanks to the help of the National Park Service-Centennial Challenge Program, the Zion National Park Forever Project, and Iron County.
“This building gives us a sense of place. It helps visitors orient to this landscape and realize its value as a national monument,” said Superintendent Kathleen Gonder. “We cannot stress our thanks to everyone who helped make this dream a reality.”
The visitor contact station will be a permanent feature to welcome visitors to Cedar Breaks with an expanded open season. Cedar Breaks’ former information center, located a historic 1937 cabin, will now focus on the area’s human history with a self-guided interpretive area.

Events on August 22 will begin at Point Supreme Overlook at 10 a.m. Mountain with various booths supported by partners and neighboring parks, followed by the dedication ceremony from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Additional information can be found at the Cedar Breaks website at www.nps.gov/cebr.
