Capella Hotel Group appoints Fasel as president

US: Luxury management company Capella Hotel Group has appointed Roland Fasel as president, responsible for overseeing the group’s two brands: Capella and Patina. 

Fasel brings more than 30 years of international hospitality experience to his role with Capella. 

He joins from Maybourne Hotel Group where he served as the group’s chief operating officer. Prior to this, Fasel spent six years as COO of Aman. 

Additional roles include several general manager positions at hotels such as Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz and The Dorchester in Londoner, among others. 

Evan Kwee, vice chairman of Capella Hotel Group, said: “Roland brings the rare combination of strategic vision and operational expertise to lead Capella Hotel Group through its next chapter of growth. He has transformed iconic properties by elevating both culture and performance—proving that excellence in luxury hospitality is both an art and a discipline. As we expand globally, we need a leader who can strengthen our competitive position while deepening the culture that differentiates us.”
