OAKHURST — Attention veterans! Veterans in the Oakhurst area will have the opportunity to receive valuable support and services at the upcoming Veterans Stand-Down event. This event is sponsored by and possible because of Caring Veterans of America. The goal for this function is to ensure that veterans have access to the resources they need to thrive in civilian life.

To begin, this two-day event is designed to provide veterans with a range of free services. Some of these services include:
- haircuts
- access to V.A. counselors
- benefit advisors
- military gear
Therefore, these free services aim to assist veterans in navigating the complexities of military benefits and ensure they receive the support they deserve.
Requirements
Furthermore, veterans attending the Stand-Down event are required to bring their VA/Military ID or DD214 Form. These documents are essential for verifying military service and guaranteeing that veterans obtain the proper services and gear. Additionally, these documents will also help streamline the process, allowing organizers to assist each veteran more efficiently.
Additional Amenities & Information
In addition to the services provided, veterans can also look forward to receiving free personal care items, as well as complimentary lunch and drinks. Therefore, making the event not only helpful, but a welcoming environment for veterans to connect with their community. Equally important, the free military gear will be available with sign-ups on Friday, September 6th. Distribution for the gear will take place on the following day, Saturday, September 7th.
