Europe: International Workplace Group (IWG) has acquired Wojo, Accor’s coworking brand.

The acquisition adds 186 flexible workspace locations to IWG’s global network. IWG has more than 6,000 signed locations across 120+ countries.

It also establishes a long-term relationship with Accor, creating opportunities to further extend professionally managed flexible workspace across its hotel network as demand for hybrid working and blended business travel continues to grow.

Previously a joint venture between Accor and Bouygues Immobilier, Wojo is now a fully-owned subsidiary of IWG, which says Wojo has established a strong reputation for combining premium flexible workspace with hospitality, providing high-quality hotel environments where professionals can work, meet and collaborate.

The acquisition further strengthens IWG’s presence in France, where it operates brands including Regus, Spaces, HQ, Signature and Stop & Work.

An IWG statement said: “As hybrid working becomes the long-term operating model for businesses around the world, and business travel increasingly blends work and leisure, hotels are becoming natural destinations for professional workspace, meetings and collaboration. Combining flexible workspace with world-class hospitality gives customers greater choice over where and how they work while providing hotel owners with an additional revenue opportunity.”

Christian Schmitz, CEO of International Workplace Group, said: “We’re delighted to add Wojo to IWG. It is a highly complementary business that further strengthens our leading position in France while creating exciting opportunities to build on our relationship with Accor and its hotel partners. Wojo has built a strong reputation for combining flexible workspace with world-class hospitality, making it an excellent addition to IWG’s global platform for work. The acquisition strengthens our relationship with Accor and expands the choice and convenience available to customers.

“Whether people are working close to home, travelling for business or meeting colleagues between locations, they increasingly expect professional workspace to be available wherever they need it. This acquisition further strengthens our platform, giving customers access to even more high-quality workspace while creating new opportunities to grow alongside Accor and its hotel partners,” he added.
