As much as I love cruising, I’m all about saving as much money as possible in order to take that vacation at sea. After all, even though you get a ton of value for this kind of getaway, why not try to squeeze every ounce of value out of a cruise.
I was doing some cruise pricing research the other day and thought I’d share my findings after seeing some killer deals on Royal Caribbean cruises.
I then sorted them by price to find the absolute cheapest Royal Caribbean cruises right now on a price per day basis. In my opinion this is a better indicator of the value you’re getting on any particular cruise.
A short cruise might look cheap on paper, but when you look at what you’re paying on a per day basis, it’s usually a lot more expensive than a 7-day or longer duration.
If you’ve been following cruise prices lately, you know that booking a cruise can sometimes feel like a moving target. Prices fluctuate and cruise price alerts only help if you’re actually able to catch them in time.
Before we jump into the numbers, there are a few important things to keep in mind about how these rates break down:
- What’s included in these prices: The daily rates listed below cover the base fare, mandatory port taxes and fees, and standard daily crew gratuities.
- Cabin type: All of these prices reflect double-occupancy Inside Cabins. If you want an oceanview room or a balcony, expect the price tag to jump up, but for budget-focused cruisers who just want to get onboard, these are the true rock-bottom numbers.
- Per-day value vs. total cost: These sailings are ranked strictly by per-day cost, not total price. You’ll notice right away that many of the top spots are long Transatlantic or repositioning cruises. A 14-night cruise will obviously cost more total out of pocket than a 3-night weekend getaway, but paying $65 a day for room, food, daily entertainment, and transit across the ocean is unmatched value.
- Ship age matters: You won’t find brand-new mega-ships like Icon of the Seas or Star of the Seas on this list. Newer ships command a hefty premium. The ships featured here are primarily Voyager-class and Radiance-class vessels. While they may be older, they are maintained incredibly well, offer fantastic classic cruise experiences, and are a goldmine for cruisers who want maximum ocean time for minimal cash.
Here is the breakdown of the top 10 cheapest Royal Caribbean cruises on a per-day basis right now.

Topping the list is a classic Westbound Transatlantic repositioning cruise on Mariner of the Seas. You get 14 nights at sea traveling from Europe back to North America for just $65 per person per day including all taxes and tips. That is less than the cost of a decent hotel room alone on land.

If you love these low per-day prices but taking 12 to 17 days off work isn’t realistic, keep your eyes on Voyager of the Seas out of Los Angeles in late 2026.
Royal Caribbean has a string of 6, 7, and 8-night Mexican Riviera cruises departing between October and December 2026 that cost between $154 and $161 per cabin/day ($77 to $80 per person/day total).
Because they are roundtrip out of LA, you skip the expensive one-way international flight costs associated with repositioning sailings while still locking in an insanely low daily rate.
