Despite having three human children (all boys), I call my dog my daughter. She is a part of the family and deserves the chance to experience the world just as much as they do. I love bringing her along on our adventures, but, as all pet owners know, some hotels are more pet-friendly than others.

If you feel as bad as I do about leaving your dog behind when you travel — especially when your vacation takes you to the great outdoors — you’ll be glad to learn that AutoCamp properties across the U.S. welcome dogs in their revitalized Airstreams and safari-style tents all year long.

In addition to dog-friendly digs, guests get perks like towels and dog bowls for their stay, complimentary dog treats and guides to dog-friendly activities in the area.

What’s even better is that AutoCamp is part of the Hilton Honors program, allowing you to earn and redeem points for your stays. AutoCamp has eight locations across the U.S., each an hour or less from some of the country’s most popular national parks and scenic landmarks.

Throughout the month of August, AutoCamp has extra treats in store for dog owners and their canine companions in honor of National Dog Day on August 26th.

During the brand’s Dog Days of Summer promotion, AutoCamp is waiving its $75 pet fee per stay (up to two dogs per reservation) at all locations nationwide. You can add up to two dogs per reservation, with an 80-pound weight limit per dog.

Not only can you bring your dog along for free, but AutoCamp is offering additional fun for four-legged friends, including an exclusive AutoCamp x Woof welcome kit, featuring enrichment and trail-ready items for your dog’s special stay.

In addition to the two-dog limit, AutoCamp requires pet owners to keep their dogs on a leash no longer than six feet when out and about on the property, and dogs may not be left unattended at any time. Because of this rule, you may want to research hiking trails and other area activities that allow dogs before your stay.

The best way to book your stay is direct through Hilton. Rates start at around $190 or 63,000 Hilton Honors points per night. Note on your reservation that your dog (or dogs) will be joining you, or call the hotel after booking to ensure it is noted.

Your dog probably doesn’t even realize that National Dog Day is August 26, but that’s no reason not to get out and celebrate. What better way to do that than with a dog-friendly stay where you can bond with your pup in America’s most beautiful wilderness?
