CAR magazine Deputy Editor Piers Ward has always wanted to learn how to dance on ice. He gave up doing it with his own feet years ago, but as the next best thing he recently took his 997 Porsche 911 to Northern Sweden to see if he could do it on four wheels.

Is Piers' 911 the perfect car for a Scandinavian road trip?
The charging ports are there hoping you go into the dealership and buy another Porsche but this time with an engine! 😂
Wonderful video, photography and article – thank you.
What tires are you using? Please be specific. Thanks!
Please pronounce Porsche properly!
subscribed… anything with stupid car in stupid scenario in the snow is a win.
9:58 "The roads are covered in snow and ice" – man these are perfectly clean and almost dry winter roads!
Not ridiculous – we did this trip in a '98 Lotus Elise – every orifice was crammed with camping gear – even under the front seats – then we drove it to Monaco for the GP
Roof tent wankers.😮
I Worked there 2 years and drifted to work and at work everyday building wind turbines what a country
Yes, it will catch on.
Yes, it’s elitist.
Ma Kan
Not Macarn. Wheres the R? So Arfgarnistarn😡
Are you Tim Key?
I was told Porsche really cutting back on electric cars as is VAG group
The snow driving is so much better with an lsd.
I feel like there is definitely a place for high end ev charging stations. I don’t think they should be brand specific though. I think if you love hanging out at the Porsche EV station you might also like a Porsche.
Great film, inspiring to take my own C4S for a spanking road trip 😊
C4s best 911 for the job ❤
Rooftop tent boxes are for losers period . 🙄
Really enjoyed the film, I’d love to see more fun adventures like this
Isn’t the roof weight limit 75kg?
I bought a 996 Carrera 4S precisely because I live in mountains elevation 5500 feet to ~9000 feet for driving in 4 seasons. Yes, that includes snow, and "GAWD Martha, – Snow and There's a curve ahead!". The big deal is I have a 300 foot long driveway on a hill. A 4Runner or common pickup-truck in 2 wheel drive will NOT make it up the hill at times. Even 4WD is not so easy at times, but doable. So, enter the C4S. I saw your video and remembered a video I saw from the past. Certainly worth a look and a little different – filmed in Colorado. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctzHGo3Wpg8 cheers.
Too minty to take on a trip like that
Nice journey and good video. I want to hit the North Pole next year March. However I am going to use hotels/motels etc. Camping sounds like really hardcore choice to me 🤪
Also ice driving without tires with spikes is not a good option even having best winter tires on.
Been to ice driving events in Norway and believe me that spikes is must have option.
If the 911 is a keeper why worry about mileage and value.. 18k miles in almost 20 years.. whats the point 🤷🏾♂️
Drive the thing!!
Nice! I only get Car magazine now because its the only mag thats bearable from my bank account freebie. Having said that, its so dreadfully electric centric. I cringe for them because its becoming increasingly obvious that electric cars are NOT the answer
I couldn’t find any winter or all season 3PSMF tyres for my 997.1 Carrera 4S. The fronts were a possibility but no one made tyre the fit the sizes of the rears! What did you put in your Carrera 4S?
05:30 'has Porsche made the right move?' sure does sound like a funny question if you bought their shares in the last 3 years… or that funny at all if u lost ur job among the 10's of K :((
Also, those tent-boxes are extremely un-aero gas-guzzlers.. Can't believe people buy them.😂
1:04 Idk, I see people spend more for enlarged SUVs and MPV fridge boxes (I'm looking at you, the likes of Toyota Alphard and Zeekr 009). Also, secondhand 997s are still relatively cheap.
Great video, genuinly fun to watch!
