Playa Bowls is opening its first Canadian location as part of a cross-country expansion plan.
As part of a master franchise agreement, Newmarket, Ontario-based Eat Up Canada signed a 1,700-square-foot lease at The Well, a mixed-use development at 486 Front St. W., in downtown Toronto. The superfruit bowl brand plans to open 160 locations throughout Canada in the coming years.
“Expanding into Canada is a major milestone for Playa Bowls, and launching our first international location in a world-class city like Toronto is a strong way to begin that next chapter,” John Cappasola, CEO of Playa Bowls, said in a company press release.
Playa Bowls, headquartered in Belmar, New Jersey, operates 400 locations.
