UK: The luxury hotel Six Senses London has opened within the former Whiteley’s emporium on Bayswater’s Queensway.

Six Senses London marks the brand’s debut project in the United Kingdom. The hotel has been designed by AvroKO in collaboration with EPR Architects, preserving the Whiteley’s original Grade II-listed façade and maintaining its Art Deco heritage.

It features 109 rooms and suites, many with private terraces, alongside 14 branded residences. The Whiteley Suite at the top of the hotel offers a roof terrace spanning 125 square metres.

The hotel has also introduced its first social wellness members club, the Six Senses Place, with programming throughout the year to include talks and shared meals that explore self-developing and healing practices.

Other amenities include the Six Senses Spa which features a magnesium pool, an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and yoga studios, alongside a biohack recovery lounge, six treatment rooms encompassing cryotherapy, flotation, red-light therapies, and more.

Additionally, the hotel has partnered with longevity clinic HUM2N, which provides  blood diagnostics, IV nutrient therapy, hormone optimisation, and more.

Food and beverage venues include Whiteley’s Kitchen, Bar and Café led by executive chef Eliano Crespi and head chef Jose Jara, as well as the separat Alchemy Bar led by head alchemist Charlotte Pulver.

Nick Yarnell, general manager of Six Senses London, said: “We wanted Six Senses London to feel like a hotel that embraces you from the moment you arrive. Warm, genuine, and instinctive, yet delivered with exacting standards and quiet precision. As part of The Whiteley, we honour the heritage of British craft and innovation while creating something that gives back to the neighbourhood and feels deeply connected to its community.”

Six Senses London has created more than 300 new roles across hospitality, wellness, and food and beverage.

The hotel forms part of The Whiteley London, a mixed-use development spanning more than one million square feet, comprising 139 homes, more than 60,000 square feet of amenities, and a collection of 19 commercial brands, in addition to Six Senses.

The Whiteley has been led by development managers Valouran, with joint venture investment partners MARK and C C Land, and architecture by Foster + Partners.
