Oceania Cruises has officially unveiled the inaugural season itineraries for Oceania Sonata, the first vessel in its new Sonata Class. Debuting in August 2027, the ship will accommodate 1,390 guests and feature a high staff-to-guest ratio, with 855 crew members. The maiden season comprises 22 distinct sailings scheduled from August 2027 through April 2028, visiting more than 90 destinations. These voyages range from 7 to 16 days and cover diverse regions including the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.

The inaugural voyage is a 14-day Mediterranean journey departing from Rome on August 7, 2027. This itinerary includes stops in Italy, Malta, Greece, Montenegro, and Croatia. Following its European season, which features overnight stays in cultural hubs like Istanbul and Bordeaux, the ship will transition across the Atlantic to Miami. The winter season will focus on tropical locales, including a daylight transit of the Panama Canal and visits to ports in Mexico and Guatemala.

Oceania Sonata is marketed as the most innovative ship in the fleet, particularly regarding its culinary offerings. The vessel will host 13 dining experiences at no additional cost, including two new venues: La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France and Nikkei Kitchen. The former is the only restaurant at sea to receive the official seal of approval from the Master Chefs of France, while the latter focuses on a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian flavors. Additionally, the ship introduces expanded social spaces, such as the Opus Lounge and an enhanced Crêperie. Bookings for these voyages are scheduled to open to the public on January 28, 2026, after a preview period on the cruise line’s website.
