Costa Cruises has officially opened bookings for its 2026-2027 South America season, featuring a diverse range of itineraries across Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. The season highlights the deployment of two major vessels, the Costa Diadema and the Costa Serena, both of which have undergone significant updates to enhance the guest experience. This period marks a major return for the Costa Serena, which has not served the South American market for over a decade.

The Costa Diadema will begin its operations on November 26, 2026, offering short three- and four-night mini-cruises from Santos and Itajaí. These brief voyages focus on the tropical beauty of Ilhabela. As the summer progresses, the ship will transition to seven-night itineraries starting December 20, 2026, which include cultural stops in Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Travelers can experience a mix of urban exploration and coastal relaxation throughout these extended trips.

In December 2026, the Costa Serena will arrive in the region following an ambitious 65-night trans-Pacific voyage from Tokyo to Buenos Aires. The ship recently completed a major 200-million-euro refurbishment in late 2025, introducing a contemporary “pop” art aesthetic based on the gods of Olympus. Onboard enhancements include a new food court and specialty dining venues like Archipelago, which features menus from Michelin-starred chefs. The vessel will offer three- to nine-night cruises departing from Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and Rio de Janeiro.

The season will conclude in April 2027 with trans-Atlantic repositioning cruises back to Europe. The Costa Diadema is scheduled to depart from Santos on April 5, 2027, for a 26-night journey ending in Kiel, Germany. This upcoming season provides a wide variety of travel lengths and destinations, catering to both local and international tourists seeking luxury regional exploration.
